Terms of use
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Pleat, a tool that runs in your web browser and makes gradient and motion assets from your colours and logo. Pleat is made and run by Simon Keane, a sole trader in the UK trading as Pleat (“we” in these terms), who you can reach at simon@keane.studio.
Using Pleat
Pleat is sold by the year, as Solo (one person, on one device) or Studio (up to five people, one device each), on the licence key you receive. You can try the assets on our website before you buy. Pleat itself opens with your licence key. We add new assets every month while your licence runs.
Your work
The colours, logos and settings you add stay in your browser. You own what you upload, and you’re responsible for having the right to use it.
Payments and refunds
Purchases are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, who sells you the licence as the merchant of record, takes payment and handles sales tax. Their checkout terms apply to the purchase itself. Pleat is digital and opens as soon as you enter your licence key, so every sale is final and there are no refunds. Before Pleat opens, you confirm that you want to start using it straight away and that you lose the 14-day right to cancel. This doesn’t affect your legal rights if Pleat is faulty. Your licence renews each year unless you cancel; cancelling keeps it working until the year ends, and everything you’ve exported stays yours.
What we promise
We work hard to keep Pleat working well, but it’s provided as it is. We’re not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud or for death or injury caused by negligence, and nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Ending a licence
You can cancel at any time and your licence runs to the end of the year you’ve paid for. If a licence key is shared beyond its seats or Pleat is used against these terms, we may end that licence.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll say so on this page.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
