Pleat runs in your browser. We keep what we collect to the minimum.

What stays on your device

Your brands, logos, settings, saved versions and licence key are stored in your browser (its local storage, not cookies) and never uploaded. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.

What we receive

Analytics

To see what people use and where Pleat can be better, the site and the tool count anonymous events through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service: pages opened and where from, buttons and choices clicked, the settings you choose (which asset, which slider and its value, never your colours or names), how far down the page you got and where you left it, errors, and exports made (the asset and size, never the image). Nothing is stored on your device and no cookie is set. So that one visit counts once, our host turns your connection and browser into an anonymous code that changes every day and can’t be turned back into either, and notes your country. You can’t be recognised on a later day, and nothing records your name, email, address or the names of your brands.

Why we use it

Who else handles it

Where data goes outside the UK, these providers use the UK’s approved safeguards for international transfers.

How long we keep it

Order records for as long as tax law requires, which is about six years. Emails with you for up to two years after we last spoke. Anonymous analytics for up to two years.

Who’s responsible

Simon Keane, a sole trader in the UK trading as Pleat, is responsible for the data described here. If you’re unhappy with how it’s handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, send it to you or stop using it, or object to how we use it, by emailing simon@keane.studio. We’ll reply within a month.
